Reading is at the heart of our curriculum. As a reading school, our aim is to promote reengagement and to ensure all pupils know that reading is an open door to all other learning opportunities. Our pupils understand that reading frequently makes them a good reader, and being a good reader expands their world. We instil this by creating a plethora of opportunities within the school day to read, whether that be individually, as a group, or with one of their staff reading-buddies. Our school reading incentives encourage and reward our young people for exploring new and different text, as well as celebrating reading for pleasure in our impressive library.
