At Reach Academy, we have a variety of charity fundraising and themed days throughout the year to raise money and awareness for a variety of good causes. These carefully planned days also provide the opportunity to create lifelong memorable experiences for our pupils. The fundraising team try and incorporate all the staff and pupils into their activities, so both can come together and have fun. These fun moments give students the chance to let their hair loose, step out of their comfort zone, socialise, interact, compete and challenge each other.
In previous years, we have raised funds for: Macmillan, Save the Children, Children in need, Guide dogs, UNICEF and Comic Relief.
In the past academic year (2019-2020), our fundraisers and theme days included:
- Hello Yellow – mental health awareness
- Christmas Jumper Day
- Diwali
- Chinese New Year
- Shelter
- World Book Day
Our activities included bake sales, wearing themed clothing, a curry cook off, donations, a parent coffee afternoon, awareness assemblies, prizes, a sleeping bag race, catwalk, festive decorations, themed lunch and a prawn cracker chopstick race.
We aim to fundraise at least every half term, pupils can contribute monetarily or through their participation in the activities. Last year we raised over £145.
