Maths

At Reach Academy, our maths curriculum is designed to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, equipping them with essential skills while fostering confidence, resilience, and independence. We provide an ambitious, inclusive, and engaging learning experience that ensures all pupils develop strong mathematical foundations and feel empowered to succeed.

We focus on building fundamental numeracy skills, addressing gaps in prior learning, and making maths accessible through practical, real-world applications. Pupils learn to apply their knowledge to everyday situations such as budgeting, problem-solving, and independent living, helping them develop essential life skills.

Our curriculum is designed to meet national curriculum objectives, ensuring pupils build the knowledge and confidence needed to progress in their learning. By developing key mathematical skills, we support pupils in preparing for the next stage of their education, helping them approach new challenges with resilience and a strong foundation.

Through hands-on activities and personalised learning plans, we create meaningful learning experiences that support individual needs while fostering structured thinking and perseverance. By embedding emotional resilience and self-belief into our teaching, we empower pupils to overcome challenges and achieve independence in both their education and everyday life.
